When oxygen availability is reduced, inherent physiologic responses are initiated through both cellular as well as systemic mechanisms. Hypoxia plays a crucial role in almost all acute and chronic diseases including, but not limited to, kidney and liver diseases, pulmonary hypertension, most forms of cardiovascular disease, retinal degeneration, wound healing, CNS pathologies, ischemia, inflammation, transplantation, acute or chronic mountain sickness and cancer. The Dublin Working Group meeting is dedicated to discussing and presenting the latest research in relation to “Therapeutic aspects of Hypoxia-inducible pathways”. This two day meeting will have four sessions dealing with Basic Science, Technology, Pharmacology and Translational Medicine of this hot topic in Hypoxia research.
